ARBOR STUDIO at Chakra Garden of Ashland
Arbor Studio at Chakra Garden of Ashland is a cozy retreat from the world, a delightful escape into a special private place. Arbor Studio is a compact, tidy single building that functions beautifully as a near-perfect self-contained retreat space for one person.
One of three unique private guest cottages at Chakra Garden of Ashland, Arbor Studio is our "tiny house" (175sqft). The building is nestled under a grandmother grapevine and looks out into our beautiful & colorfully arrayed cottage-style therapeutic themed garden, a sanctuary filled with flowers & herbs, and entertainment for our guests.
Expect friendly atmosphere, intelligent use of space, interior cleanliness, bamboo floors, interesting lighting, filtered drinking water, & a new HVAC. Arbor Studio also promises a well-equipped kitchenette (good fridge/freezer, convection/toaster oven, micro, 2-slice toaster, electric kettle & frying pan, 3 each dishes, cups, etc. Hot plate & blender available upon request). We also provide a variety of teas, a few TJs snacks, plus Peets coffee beans, a grinder, 1/2&1/2 + raw sugar. We do not provide breakfast.
You can enjoy your light meals or work on your tablet perched upon the stool at the kitchenette counter. Our sit in the comfy barrel chair with your laptop on a wooden folding table. You'll be in front of the tall window. Your eyes will be refreshed as they wander past the ancient grapevine arbor out into the garden.
Arbor Studio sports a new, queen-sized bed (mattress and box springs) by Serta. The well-insulated cottage is heated with a portable radiator-type device, ceiling fan for air circulation, and a newer window air conditioner. And you have your own semi-private out-door sitting area, in dappled shade through most of a summer day.
Parking is off-street in our 3-vehicle driveway, or safely at curbside along Hersey Street. Access to the Arbor is along garden paths. The ground in the garden can be uneven and the bark-covered walkway dark, especially at night. We have solar lights but we encourage you to carry a flashlight. Please do not request to stay in this cottage is you are unsteady on your feet; Lhasa House or Temple House would be more appropriate for you.
The garden and the cottage feel isolated from the outside world, yet we're at the beginning of downtown Ashland and in the historic district. We're near the corner of Hersey & North Main so there's traffic noise. But guests report over and over how peaceful they find the gardens and the cottage. If you live in a city, village traffic is simple.
We're less than 1/2 mile north of downtown plaza and there's lots of fun walks to explore on the way. Walk across the plaza at you're at Lithia Park and the bottom of the steps that lead directly to Angus Bowmer Theater and the OSF bricks.
